Stop Striving, Start Operating From Who You Are
What happens when the title changes, the kids grow up, the promotion doesn’t come, or the role you’ve built your identity around suddenly shifts?
If your identity is rooted in what you do, what you’ve accomplished, or what others think about you, those changes can leave you questioning who you are. But God never intended for your job, your roles, your responsibilities, or even your past experiences to define you. Your identity is in Christ—and you were created to operate FROM that identity, not strive to earn one.
In this episode of the Mindset PUSH Podcast, we’re talking about what it looks like to stop performing for approval and start showing up from the authority, confidence, peace, and purpose you already have in Christ.
I’m also sharing part of my own journey of wrestling with my identity beyond being a pharmacist as God began calling me to write books, create Mindset PUSH, coach women, and step into an assignment that didn’t necessarily match the credentials behind my name. I knew God was telling me to move, but worrying about what other people would think kept me procrastinating on what He had already called me to do.
Sound familiar?
In this episode, we’ll talk about:
- Why attaching your identity to your career, accomplishments, motherhood, or other people’s opinions can lead to striving and burnout
- How knowing your God-given identity changes the way you show up at work, at home, and in your purpose
- Why you don’t have to perform for an approval God has already given you
- How to replace limiting beliefs and mental noise with God’s truth
- Why spending time in God’s Word is essential to understanding who you are
- How to create space for God to speak and direct your steps
- What it means to stop simply consuming information and actually walk boldly in who God created you to be You were never meant to strive your way into worthiness.
You were created in Christ for good works that God prepared for you beforehand. Your circumstances may change. Your title may change. Your responsibilities may change. Who you are in Christ does not.
So this week, I challenge you: stop operating to become and start operating from who God says you already are. Get into His Word. Make room for Him. Take your thoughts captive. And then be a doer—walk it out.
