September: Create Rhythms You Can Actually Live In

Cara’s Letter

September has a way of showing us whether the routines we created in August are actually working.

The school year is moving. Calendars are filling up. Work is work-ing. The excitement of a fresh start has started to wear off, and now we’re settling into the reality of everything that needs to get done.

And this is usually where we start adjusting by adding more.

Wake up earlier. Try harder. Become more organized. Squeeze one more thing into an already full schedule.

But what if the answer isn’t doing more?

What if it’s creating rhythms that allow you to keep showing up without constantly running on empty?

There is a difference between a routine that helps you survive your schedule and a rhythm that supports the life God is calling you to live.

A sustainable rhythm leaves room for work and rest. It allows you to serve your family without constantly neglecting yourself. It gives you permission to say no when something doesn’t align with what God has assigned to you in this season.

Most importantly, it keeps you connected to your Source.

This month, I want to challenge you to stop asking, “How can I fit everything in?”

Instead, ask:

“What rhythms will help me faithfully steward what God has placed in my hands?”

You don’t have to exhaust yourself to live on assignment.

Let’s build a life you don’t constantly need to recover from.

With love,
Cara

Scripture to Stand On

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1, NLT

Everything has a season—but everything does not have to happen in this season.

Part of creating sustainable rhythms is recognizing what God is asking of you right now and giving yourself permission to release, postpone, or say no to what He isn’t.

Your schedule should reflect your priorities, not compete with them.

This Month on Mindset PUSH

This month on the Mindset PUSH Podcast + YouTube, we’re talking about creating sustainable rhythms.

Throughout four new episodes, we’ll unpack what it looks like to create routines that support the woman God has called you to be, not routines that leave you exhausted trying to keep up.

We’ll talk about simplifying your schedule, creating healthy boundaries, protecting your peace, and building rhythms that continue working long after the motivation of a fresh start disappears.

Because the goal isn’t to become better at being busy.

The goal is to create a life that gives you room to live on assignment.

Look for a new episode each week this September.

If you have not subscribed, what are you doing? Here is the link to my YouTube Channel. What? You don't do YouTube? No problem, the same episodes are also available on Apple and Spotify.

Destiny Decision of the Month

Decide what deserves a rhythm, and what doesn’t deserve your time.

Choose one area of your life that currently feels harder or more chaotic than it needs to be.

Instead of asking how you can try harder, ask:

“What simple rhythm could make this easier to sustain?”

Maybe that means meal planning once a week instead of deciding what's for dinner every night.

Maybe it means protecting one evening each week with no commitments.

Maybe it means putting your quiet time with God on your calendar before filling it with everything else.

Maybe it means finally setting a boundary around when your workday ends.

Keep it simple. One decision. One rhythm.

Journal Prompt

What in my current routine is helping me live on assignment—and what is simply helping me keep up?

Then ask yourself:

What needs to be simplified, protected, or released so I can create more room for peace, purpose, and the things God has actually called me to?

Coming Next Month: Destiny Decisions

October is going to be special.

We’ve spent time learning who we are in Christ. We’ve talked about protecting our peace, creating margin, and living with intention.

But knowing who you are is only the beginning.

Eventually, your identity has to influence your decisions.

Next month, we’re diving into Destiny Decisions—the everyday choices we make from the confidence of knowing who God created us to be.

And I’ll also be sharing something I’ve been working on that brings this message together in a much bigger way.

Destiny Decisions will officially open for pre-order in October!

I cannot wait to share more with you.

Your Assignment

This month, I don't want to give you another long list of things to do.

I want you to create one sustainable rhythm.

That’s it.

Choose one area where you’ve been operating in chaos, rushing, or constantly making the same decision over and over again.

Create one simple rhythm that makes room for peace.

Then practice it consistently throughout September.

Remember: Sustainable doesn’t mean perfect.

If the rhythm falls apart one day, you haven't failed. Reset and keep going.

We aren't creating routines so we can prove how disciplined we are.

We're creating rhythms that give us the capacity to become who God created us to be, make destiny decisions, and live on assignment.

That’s your assignment. Now, let's go be great!
